AA, Al-Anon, and NA Meetings in Canon City, Colorado
The overdose rate in Fremont County is on the rise. It’s time to get our family members and friends the help they need. The 12-Step meetings in Canon City can help.
Fremont County is one of the least-populated regions in all of Colorado. With less than 50,000 residents, its size pales in comparison to other counties in the state.
But, it has a drug problem that’s nearly as bad as that in other counties. According to local officials, there are far more residents are using heroin today than there were only a few years ago.
It’s causing problems in the community, too. As Mike O’Rourke, the county’s Chief Probation Officer points out, roughly 60 to 70 percent of Fremont’s crimes are motivated by drugs. The majority of robberies and property crimes that happen in the small county are committed by people who are trying to get money for heroin.
So, it’s apparent that the community has a problem.
But luckily, help is available.
There are a number of local addiction resources that can help addicts get clean before it’s too late. The AA and NA meetings in Canon City, for example, support addicts throughout the recovery journeys.
